Hello there! My name is April Tennyson, and I am happy to meet you! I desire to be a part of making people's lives better, and I do that, in part, through music. I have been playing the piano since I was 9 years old, and while I enjoyed playing, I never thought it was something I would make my living doing. But after I started teaching my first student, I realized this is what I was CREATED to do. I loved it, and I continue to love it today. I relish seeing the spark in someone's eyes when they accomplish something small but great, overcome a challenge, break down a wall, discover something new, find joy in the middle of their mess, or realize that today they can do what seemed impossible yesterday.

I am thankful that I have been given the opportunity to be a small part of improving lives through God's gift of music. “When words fail, music speaks.” I have personally seen this truth time and time again. I have seen it in the little boy who didn't speak or understand English, but was able to communicate and connect with his classmates when we brought music class to his preschool. I have seen it in the many toddlers, teens, and adults who have found music-making to be an expression of worship, an emotional outlet, and helpful in overcoming anxiety and depression. I have seen it in smiles on the faces of children, parents and grandparents as they enjoy making music and memories together.

So here I am- Your local certified Musikgarten and private piano teacher. I have been teaching private piano lessons since 2012, and became a certified Musikgarten teacher in 2014. I am a redeemed daughter of The King, thankful for grace, love to create, and enjoy traveling, drinking coffee, and running. ♥
